MAYOUSSE

Mayousse (Pronounced -MaahYOUss)  has been dancing her whole life. From dancing at weddings, faith based parties, restaurants, to dancing in festivals, nursing homes, & workshops. Her mother instilled the love of dance in her heart at an early age. She began her Raqs Sharqi journey after seeing a dancer in a restaurant, followed by seeing golden era of belly dance which is her favorite. She was mesmerized & quickly signed up for classes.

In NYC, she had the privilege of studying with Serena Wilson, Morocco, Jehan Kamal, Amara Al Amir, Dalia Carella, Ranya Renee, Amar Garcia, Tamalyn Dallal, Delilah, & Yousry Sharif. She also had the privilege of studying with international stars such as Madame Raqia Hassan, Dandash, Randa Kamel, Dr. Mo Geddawi, Lulu Sabongi, & Rachid Alexander. Years later, many classes, workshops, festivals, haflas, & now on-line shows, her love for the dance grew even more.

The dance, music, teachers, & costumes continue to capture her heart. The dance has a history of powerful, strong, intelligent, talented, & beautiful women. She is beyond honored to be a part of this amazing community. She is a lifelong student & continues to add this art form to her repertoire. When she dances, that is when we truly see her essence.
